Kazem El Masri

Kaz, Kaz, Kaz, …..I have to admit that he has talent. Today was an uneventful day, until i guess the lunch break, where kristian, Harrison, Ali, and I were kicking a football peacefully in Victoria Park. it so happened that Kaz and his mates were under a tree in the park doing some complex css without computers, lol. We decided that it would be cool to interrupt Kaz from his mindboggling work by kicking the ball in his direction. Kaz, trying to show off his incredible kicking skills, tried to kick the ball back to us. Well, the ball didnt exactly reach us, instead it hit one of those lovely steel park light poles, and rebounded off hitting a studious guy lying down next to it.

……THE REACTION WAS AWESOME, first of all the guy gets up, takes off his glasses, and steps towards us (not having seen that it was Kaz that had done the brilliant kick). “WAS THAT REALLY NECESSARY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”, was the only part of his speach that we remeber. it was hillarious. There was a standing ovation, by the Aboriginals camping close by (with a tent and fire). If only we had filmed it. :(

…and we all lived happily ever after.

How to rate

People who are at a cafe/ restaurant/ shopping/ wateva, get buzzed in a certain way by the phone, reminding them if they want to vote. the phone will know they are in a certain place because of the GPS. Then what happens is that categories start coming up (one and a time). Pretend the first one is QUALITY, then the user will place as many of his/ her five fingers onto the screen giving a rating out of 5. (3 fingers is 3/5, lol, for those that don’t get it).

People may complain that there is not enough privacy and that they dont want to be “tracked”. I’m not sure how well this could work…but what if for every GPS iphone that is in the world there is a symbolic totally anonymous dot. so that the system only knows that there is a GPS in that cafe, for example, not a certain Bob Smith.

Geeze Louise…

There are soooo many things that need to be taken into consideration that i’m getting a headache. i had not thought about how the system will work and be run. Now unfortunately i have.     :(

Not too happy now. lol

i was thinking that it would run through the internet, but then it would be too expensive to run and people wouldnt want it.

Then i was thinking about Morris Iemma’s promise for blanket coverage over thr city. WIFI would be great because its wireless, but the privacy would be an issue.

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

TALK ABOUT FRUSTRATING.

choice

i think it would also be very important for people to know where they are being led.

when setting up the application u would have an option of whether u allow the iphone to lead u blindly to the first place that comes up after ur preferences.

the other option would be for the iphone to list the options (not too many), on a map (google maps). this would allow the user to see where the places are. then the user can click on a link that would open up some information on the place and view some images that had been taken by the voters.

using the phone..

people who are reviewing different places would also have a chance to take a photo of what the a particular restaurant looks like, or even what the food looks like. this would enrich the users information on a certain place before they make a decision on where to go.

how to access the application

the iphone will allow the user to use fingerprint recognition to access certain applications. eg hold down the thumb on the screen for 3 seconds and the camera will start. another finger would be set to open up my application. jst need to remember which finger is which. very easy i say. ingenious lol.

menu

a menu from all willing eateries, food stores, (catalogues for clothes stores, or appliance stores), willbe submitted into the system for easier usability.

say that someone really wants to have a very nice gourmet steak sandwich (perfectly grilled juicy meat, with freshly cut lettuce…). there is like nothing else you want except for that. the phone would now know where to fnd such a meal. you would also specify a price if necessary.

why the iphone?

Firstly because it needed a phone with much more memory than that of another one.

secondly, i am thinking of the phone playing a more active role when users have to submit their opinions and preferences on different places. the key thing would be to make users WANT to put their preferences into the system, making them do as little work as possible, and making it very, very easy.

refinining idea on previous blog…

with the system u specify a price range for ur meal, clothing, (or anything else).

there is no limit as to how many specifications you give the phone. (you can just keep on talking and talking and talking to the phone as if it were your only fwiend.
